Help us pick movies to show this summer!


Cinema Under the Stars FREE outdoor movie series is coming back to Westwood Village for the 3rd year in a row this summer, and we're letting you help us pick the flicks! Pick up to 4 movies from the selections below. We will announce the top 4 movies selected May 1st! Please help us get the word out, vote & share with your friends!




Taking place in the surface parking lot located at 1031 Broxton Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90024, next to Barney’s Beanery and with the Westwood Village Fox Theatre in the background, fans can enjoy these films completely free on a big screen under the stars. Moviegoers are invited to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the screening in this unique outdoor setting. Attendance is free and open to the public, and moviegoers are encouraged to show up early to stake a sweet spot and grab some snacks.

Cinema Under the Stars: Red Carpet Series


Looking for a special big summer movie event to take family or friends tofor free? Well then Flicks for Fans and the Westwood Village Improvement Association have you covered with the new outdoor movie screenings - “Westwood Village Cinema Under the Stars: Red Carpet Series” hosted by James Oster aka 'Jimmy O' from Joblo.com.  Free featured films include “Independence Day” on July 20 and Pixar’s “UP” on August 10 both starting at 8pm.

Both films in this series, “Independence Day” and Pixar’s “UP” had their Red Carpet Premiere’s at the famed Westwood Village Fox Theatre, and they're celebrating those historic events with two very special free evenings in Westwood. Taking place in the surface parking lot located at 1031 Broxton Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90024,  adjacent to Barney’s Beanery. With the Westwood Village Fox Theatre in the background, fans can enjoy these films completely free on a big screen under the stars. Moviegoers are invited to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the screening in this unique outdoor setting. Attendance is free and open to the public, and moviegoers are encouraged to show up early to stake a sweet spot and grab goodies.

But the red carpet exclusives don’t stop there.  Fans who attend the screenings will be treated to bonus extras not available anywhere else. For “Independence Day” fans will see an exclusive video intro from the set of the new film “Independence Day Resurgence” featuring Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Sela Ward and Director Roland Emmerich.

Before the screening “UP” Ed Asner, the star of “UP” and the iconic voice of Carl Fredricksen will make a rare in-person appearance and Q&A.  Moviegoers at both screenings will have the opportunity to win special prizes like giveaways and signed goodies to be handed out to fans as well.
